Race

Each event (including practice runs) requires online registration, which can be done in advance by clicking Application in the green box next to each event.

Training sessions with qualification

Get familiarized with the track and qualify for the afternoon races! We provide measured practice runs for general public with each rider having his/her fastest lap measured. The fastest riders will make it to the main races based on their scooter's weight category – the Voltrace Time Attack, or possibly with the Inokim OXO 2021 model to the Voltrace Riders Cup.

Before riding, riders must register themselves and demonstrate their knowledge of basic rules. The electric scooters used in races must be of maximum 70 kg weight and must not be longer than 170 cm. The mandatory safety equipment includes a helmet, gloves and a spine protector for Platinum category riders. You will be able to borrow this protector from us at the racing event.

Voltrace Time Attack

A basic race type, the results are included in the score for the whole series. The race is against time (not from the grid but a flying start). The final time is calculated as a sum of three fastest laps out of ten attempts. With this race, you will appreciate better safety, as you only ride against time and there is no overtaking. The racers ride their own scooters in individual weight categories.

Voltrace - Riders Cup

This is a cup where only the racer's skills matter, the equipment having no impact. It is intended for those who want to compare their riding skills without any influence by a chosen scooter, its performance or modifications made to it. The results are included in the score for the whole series. The race is against time (not from the grid but a flying start). The final time is calculated as a sum of three fastest laps out of ten attempts. The advantage being better safety, as you only ride against time and there is no overtaking. The racers ride identical scooters supplied by the organizer – the 2021 edition of the Inokim OXO model was chosen for the 2021 racing season.

Scooter weight decides

Categories

It is solely the weight of the scooter that determines its classification into a given category, regardless of the scooter's design, power, wheel size, battery, drive or rider's weight. Only scooters weighing no more than 70 kg, without seat and of maximum 170 cm length will be allowed to start. For more information see the rules after they are published.

Announced categories:

  • Category C (electric scooters up to 20 kg)
  • Category B (electric scooters up to 40 kg)
  • Category A (electric scooters up to 70 kg)

With Time Attack races, each rider is included in the absolute results, regardless of the category. Where a rider belonging to a lower category wishes to participate in a higher category race as well, this shall be allowed, provided that such rider duly qualifies by his/her lap time. A scooter of a higher weight category shall not be allowed to participate in a lower weight category.

Two on one

Doublers

In the Time Attack and Riders Cup races, the participation by doublers is permitted, meaning that a particular scooter may serve as a vehicle shared by multiple riders, however always driven solely by a single passenger. In this manner, we wish to allow more racers sharing a single scooter and thus lower the costs for these racers.

Regulations are necessary

Rules

The detailed rules are presently being prepared and will be published here no later than on 10 September 2021.

We will send them to registered riders by e-mail for study. The knowledge of these rules is a precondition for being admitted to start. The racers will demonstrate their knowledge of the rules (in particular, safety rules) by taking an online test before the race and also before practice runs. After passing the test, they will receive a license issued in their name and they will no longer be required to prove their knowledge at future events.

All runs and races, including ones on a rented scooter, shall take place solely at the risk and responsibility of the rider.

I only want to

Ride

Not everyone wishes to compete. If you just want to ride without any racing or scoring points, and without having to worry about weather, it goes without saying that this shall be possible during our training sessions. Your lap times will be always measured so that you know whether you are getting faster on the track. Just find the dates of training sessions in the above table and register.

Please note. The maximum permitted weight of your own scooter is 70 kg and its maximum length is 170 cm. If you wish to try out our scooters that are used in the Riders Cup, it shall be possible to rent them during training sessions.

The availability of individual models during training sessions may be limited.

The training sessions are also subject to safety rules. The start is not allowed without getting familiarized with them, which must be demonstrated by taking a short test. After passing the test, you will receive a free license and you will no longer be required to demonstrate your knowledge at future events. A €10 fee is charged to have a license issued, the racers registered for the pilot race will get their license free of charge.

All runs, including ones on a rented scooter, shall take place solely at the risk and responsibility of the rider.

I want to

Watch

We are glad to hear it! All our meetings featuring races and practice runs can be visited by public free of charge. Just note down the race dates and come to support your friends, favorite racers or your team. Public access may be restricted due to capacity reasons or based on latest epidemic measures.

Please note that the public will not have access to the track or pit. Media representatives are required to register in order to gain track access, which is at your own risk. To register, just send your details and information about the media you work for to voltrace@voltride.eu.
