Of course, the manufacturer points out that the stated range is indicative and in reality depends on rider weight, route profile and weather conditions. Nevertheless, it represents a significant step forward, making the SC40 a versatile companion for different types of journeys. The scooter maintains a maximum design speed of 25 km/h, but in tests reaches up to 35 km/h, setting it apart from less powerful models and offering a livelier riding experience.

Design and equipment

At first glance, the robust design stands out, emphasizing stability and durability. The dimensions of the scooter in unfolded condition are 123 × 130 × 60 cm and when folded it shrinks to 123 × 60 × 60 cm, making it relatively easy to store in a car trunk or apartment. The wide handlebars with a span of 60 cm and height of 130 cm provide a secure grip and comfort even on longer rides. The footboard, measuring 50 × 20 cm, is spacious enough to ensure comfortable riding even for taller users. The total load capacity of 120 kg makes the SC40 a suitable choice for most riders. The scooter weighs 24 kg, which means it’s not the lightest to carry, but its solid construction brings greater stability and a sense of safety. It is equipped with inflatable 11″ wheels that, in combination with front and rear suspension, significantly increase riding comfort even on uneven surfaces. Useful features include LED lighting, a battery status indicator, 3 speed modes (6 / 18 / 25 km/h), cruise control, a quick-folding mechanism and an anti-rollback lock (zero start).

Use and practicality

The LAMAX eGlider SC40 is designed to handle everyday city rides as well as longer journeys beyond the main road network. Thanks to its high performance and range, it is suitable for students, workers and recreational riders who don’t want to be limited by short battery life. For urban traffic, the folding mechanism is practical, allowing the scooter to be stored in public transport or a car. Although its 24 kg weight means frequent carrying up stairs is not very convenient, the SC40 compensates with higher riding reliability. Maintenance mainly consists of regularly checking tire pressure, battery condition and tightening screws. The 48 V / 14.5 Ah Li-ion battery requires careful charging and it is recommended not to overcharge or fully discharge it to preserve its lifespan. Inflatable wheels provide excellent stability, but from time to time they will need inflating.

Safety is one of the priorities of this model. The scooter uses a combined braking system – a mechanical drum brake is complemented by an electronic brake, which increases confidence when stopping quickly. LED lights at the front and rear ensure visibility during night rides, and the wide handlebars together with suspension contribute to stability. The anti-rollback lock (zero start) is an important feature especially for beginners or when waiting at intersections – the scooter will not start without the rider pushing off. The maximum speed is limited to 25 km/h for safety reasons, which complies with current legislation for electric scooters. Naturally, real range depends on several factors – rider weight, route profile, frequent braking and acceleration, and weather conditions can reduce the value. The maximum speed of 25 km/h is legally accepted, but tests show the scooter can reach up to 35 km/h. For riding comfort, 3 speed modes are available – from the economical 6 km/h, through the universal 18 km/h, up to the maximum mode of 25 km/h. Thanks to cruise control, longer rides are more comfortable and less tiring.
