The VSETT 9+ is a middle-end model of the electric scooter series made by this brand. It is a fantastically powerful and versatile new generation dual-motor electric scooter developed by the team that has previously introduced the successful Zero scooters. This electric scooter series is characterized by performance, quality, stability and safety. The VSETT 9+ boasts multiple innovations taking the development of electric scooters to a higher level. Taking care of your comfort are the front and rear spring shock absorbers, 8.5-inch inflatable tires and comfortable ergonomic grips on the handlebars. The whole structure is carefully balanced to maintain stability at higher speeds that may reach up to 53 km/h.
Safety and ride quality
Safety always comes first. The scooter’s components are installed in a new frame, which was designed for maximum riding stability. The upgraded massive folding mechanism is fast, convenient and, most importantly, safe thanks to its failsafe latch. The frame is made of a very strong aluminum alloy used in the aerospace industry. The whole structure is carefully balanced to maintain stability at higher speeds that may reach up to 53 km/h (depending on rider’s weight, outside temperature and terrain). The less experienced riders have the option to limit their top speed by deactivating the front motor, which halves the scooter’s power. However, powerful performance requires a quality braking system, which has been indeed given to this scooter. The quality cable-actuated disc brakes can brake effectively even at higher speeds. Combined with electric ABS, braking is piece of cake. The quality and rigid structure of the entire scooter allows total load capacity of up to 120 kg. The scooter offers the option to activate the so-called “Kick-start” feature preventing any unwanted start up. The easy-to-maintain step-on anti-skid surface preventing the rider from slipping in bad weather or extreme situation comes as a bonus. As a standard, the scooter’s equipment includes strong LED lights integrated into the deck and the front fender, controlled by a backlit thumb switch on the steering rod which, combined with front and rear turn signals and electric horn, allow the rider to ride safely both during day hours and in poor visibility.
Power and range
The VSETT 9+ electric scooter has two powerful carbonless electric motors, each providing 650 W power and together delivering a total peak output of up to 1800 W (2 x 900 W). Combined with a dual 23A control unit and new thermal protection circuits, the scooter allows the rider a trouble-free riding up a hill at an inclination of up to 25 degrees! The scooter’s power is controlled by a popular finger lever. LG’s intelligent 48V lithium-ion battery supports fast charging and promises a long range (depending on the selected battery capacity: 15.6 Ah, 19.2 Ah or 21.0 Ah, rider’s weight, weather conditions, terrain and riding style) between 40 and 55 km. It is possible to almost double the range by riding in ECO mode and on single motor. Located at the top of the deck, the two charging ports are more practical in terms of access to them, providing better protection against mechanical damage when riding on an uneven surface. It goes without saying that these charging ports are equipped with a protective cap. The battery does not suffer from any undesirable memory effect, which is why it will last many years, subject to proper charging and maintenance!
Use and practicality
Given its solid structure and high performance, this is a very versatile scooter. Thanks to its 2x2 drive, the VSETT 9+ can handle terrain and even steeper climbs. When riding in a city, you will appreciate smooth power delivery and agility of the scooter. You do not have to worry about your scooter giving up on you on a longer trip. You will love the very comfortable chassis, which you will be able to use both on cobblestones and on field roads. Despite the scooter’s versatility, its weight of about 25-28 kg (depending on the battery size) may be a limiting factor for some riders who will not enjoy any stairs standing in their way. Likewise, the scooter’s performance and robust design are at the expense of compactness, meaning you might have difficulty taking it with you inside a restaurant and will have to lock it outside like a bicycle. Carrying the scooter over a short distance does not require too much effort, however you will sweat a little taking it to a higher floor of an apartment building without elevator. With its size it fits inside the trunk of a normal car, but do expect it to take up quite some space. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic machine both for the city and off-road riding.
Body, design and equipment
The scooter has an impressive design that in combination with the green-black color scheme adds certain elegance to the scooter’s appearance. The frame and folding handlebars are made of wrought aerospace aluminum alloy (6082-T6) and the wheel shafts are made of chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with carbon admixture (SCM440). This combination gives the scooter the rigidity it needs to ensure rider’s safety. Taking care of your comfort are the front and rear spring shock absorbers, 8.5-inch inflatable tires and comfortable ergonomic grips on the handlebars. The scooter’s compactness has been designed with the innovative clever patented triple locking mechanism featuring a failsafe latch in the rear part of the machine. This gives you the certainty that you can fold the scooter at any time whenever you have to carry it somewhere or load it into a car. Located at the rear of the machine, the integrated handle makes it easier to carry and load the scooter, allowing for better lifting of the scooter body. The VSETT 9+ scooter is equipped with a large and easy-to-read display with NFC lock, activated by a chip in the form of a dongle, NFC-compatible smartphone or smartwatch. The display shows all important data, such as speed, current gear, daily kilometers travelled (TRIP), total kilometers travelled (ODO) and the current battery level. Thanks to its high brightness level, the display stays legible even in adverse weather conditions.
