More info

There is only a handful of electric scooters that look so simple on the outside, yet after a closer examination and the first ride, they reassure you that there is a great potential hidden inside. The InMotion Climber is such a machine – the first dual-motor scooter from this manufacturer. Contributing to the delight of new owners are the quality of workmanship, functional and modern equipment, as well as decent battery capacity and performance that competes with models found in more expensive categories.

Body, design and equipment

Minimalistic, yet rigid and made for the pitfalls of a city. At InMotion, they know what urban riders expect from their scooters, which is why every part of the InMotion Climber embodies functionality. It is built around the sufficiently large deck with a practical, non-slip rubber surface. The deck smoothly transitions into a robust fender at the back and there is a rigid metal neck leading to the steering column at the front. These two parts are connected by a joint fitted with a simple folding system. One lever unlocks the steering rod, which then attaches to the rear fender by a built-in hook. In the same fashion, the handlebars are devoid of any unnecessary distractions and only feature one dominant element – the built-in display. It displays information about your current speed, serves as a light indicator and shows the current riding mode. Everything is controlled either by a single button under the display or by using a smartphone after connecting it to the scooter via Bluetooth. As a proper city scooter, it must not blend in with the crowd. That is why it combines a matte black finish with orange elements, which are colors that also embody the InMotion brand.

Power and range

The first-class workmanship is found not only on the outside but also "under the hood" of the InMotion Climber. This is the only model in the entire portfolio, with which the manufacturer opted for a two-motor drive calibrated to 900 W in standard conditions. However, the brushless motors are capable of reaching peak power of 1500 W. Since it is called the Climber, climbing hills at an incline of 36% will not be a problem for this scooter. On a flat surface, it can accelerate you to a speed of 38 km/h after pressing the thumb lever, which is more than enough for city streets. To be able to supply both motors sufficiently, this model hides under the deck a 36 V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 14.7 Ah. When fully charged, the stored energy lasts for 56 km. Once empty, you only need to connect it to a standard charger via a single charging port on the side of the deck and wait 9 hours to fully charge. The InMotion Climber battery comes with the Smart Battery Management System. It takes care of the battery by using smart energy management, which includes maintaining ideal temperature of cells and balanced use of their capacity, thus significantly prolonging the lifespan of the battery.

Safety and comfort

Although the design of the InMotion Climber does not utilize any active chassis suspension, the manufacturer does compensate for it by a pair of 10-inch inflatable tires that are 2.125-inch wide. These tires allow the scooter to travel down bad city roads while providing better comfort. Moreover, inside these tires are the reinforced inner tubes that minimize the puncture risk. Thanks to its safety features, the scooter also reduces the accident risk. These safety features are based on the electronic brake system both at the front and back, complemented by a mechanical disc brake at the back. Working together, they offer instant response to pressing a brake lever, allowing you to always stop in time in front of an obstacle. The front LED headlight, along with the rear light and the flashing brake light, make sure that you are seen on the road even in the dark.

Use and practicality

Although most of the time you only need to charge the InMotion Climber to ride it, once in a while it does require thorough cleaning and inspection of all parts. Fortunately, the manufacturer took account of this maintenance and used a modular scooter structure. At home, it only takes 10 minutes to disassemble its moving parts, including wheels that come with a split rim. This scooter can be stored at home conveniently since it only weighs 20.8 kg and its dimensions are 116.5 x 55 x 51 cm (length, height, width) when folded. The height of the unfolded scooter is 119.5 cm. Completing the versatility package is the total load capacity of 130 kg and the scooter’s IPX6 waterproof rating, while the battery itself is certified for even better rating – IPX7.
