The Dualtron electric scooters are no longer heavy and robust machines made with off-road terrain in mind. Their technology found its way to compact urban scooters. Maintenance-free design, modern equipment and power that is sufficient to climb any hill. This is the Dualtron Popular, which we are sure will become one of the most popular urban scooters on the market.
Body, design and equipment
When designing the brand new Dualtron Popular model, people at Minimotors followed the philosophy of making the scooter as user-friendly as possible. Their efforts resulted in a compact, yet well-equipped machine with maintenance-free design. The frame made of aviation-grade aluminum features a deck with a raised rear part and a single-press folding system. It allows you to fold the steering rod that is illuminated by an LED strip. At the end of the steering rod are the folding handlebars with ergonomic grips. However, the centerpiece of the top part of the Dualtron Popular model is the built-in EY2 LCD panel made in-house by MiniMotors. It displays all the necessary riding data. Connecting your smartphone to it via Bluetooth allows you to set the scooter’s advanced riding options, as well as ambient lighting. The LED lighting is found both on the aforementioned steering rod and on the side of the deck.
Power and range
When it comes to urban scooters, it is the quality of design that is more important than extreme performance or top speed. However, the Dualtron Popular combines both. Together, the two motors deliver a peak power of 2 900 W, so it will be no problem for you to conquer 37-degree inclines. In ideal conditions, after pressing the finger lever you can ride this scooter on a flat surface at a speed of 65 km/h, which is more than enough for an urban environment. The 52 V battery with a capacity between 14 and 25 Ah does not lag behind the rest of the scooter in terms of specifications. The cells of the largest battery are made by LG. The other two battery versions feature cells made in-house by MiniMotors. You will be able to travel 35 to 60 km per charge, depending on the battery version. The model equipped with largest battery thus needs to be charged only once in a while in normal daily use, and this via one protected charging port on the "neck" of the steering rod.
Safety and comfort
At Dualtron, they know what it means to build an ideal city scooter. The Dualtron Popular was fitted with independent suspension at the front and a spring at the back. Both shock absorbers are completely hidden inside the scooter body so that as little dirt as possible gets into the suspension system. The chassis fulfills its main purpose – riding comfort. The scooter is more comfortable still thanks to the suspension combined with inflatable 9-inch tires with inner tube. Therefore, you will always enjoy full control over the Dualtron Popular and you will always stop safely thanks to two drum brakes. The manufacturer opted for them because of their minimum maintenance requirements, which makes this scooter even more attractive for everyday use in an urban environment. Once you add a twin front LED headlight, rear and brake light, turn signals and a horn, no one will overlook you on the road.
Use and practicality
The Dualtron Popular will be a dream scooter for all those who expect first-class workmanship, maintenance-free design and riding properties without compromises. However, this scooter offers something extra. Namely, a practical package full of state-of-the-art equipment and design, forcing all to turn their heads in the street. All the design features got reflected in the total weight of 32.5 kg. However, measuring 122.7 x 52.3 x 20.5 cm (length, height, width) when folded, you can easily fit this scooter inside the trunk of a medium-sized car. When unfolded, its dimensions remain compact at 120 x 121.6 x 63.4 cm and the load capacity is 120 kg. The new owners will surely be pleased with the fact that the entire scooter is waterproof thanks to IPX5 rating.
Our rating
It is our opinion that the Popular model has replaced the previously only small urban scooter by Dualtron – the Mini model, becoming a new No. 1. It is faster, comfortable, maintenance-free and, moreover, full of cutting-edge equipment. As one of the few electric scooters of the Dualtron brand, it comes with spring suspension, which by no means makes it less comfortable. Once you enclose the whole package by a typical black and white Dualtron design, highlighted by ambient LED lighting, you can rest assured that you will be riding one of the best urban scooters on the market.
Service
We are an authorized dealer of the Dualtron brand in Czechia, Slovakia and other countries. We offer warranty and post-warranty servicing, which is provided at our branches. We keep most spare parts in stock and are able to get other parts in a very short period of time thanks to our direct contacts to the manufacturer. About the brand
The Minimotors is known globally as one of the best and most reliable manufacturers of electric scooters. It was established in 1999 in Pusan (Busan) in South Korea. Shortly after its establishment, the company became famous for its mass-produced electric motors. In 2010, it initiated the development and manufacturing of electric scooters as an excellent personal mobility alternative to single-track petrol-engine vehicles. In the same year, it delivered its Speedway electric scooter series to the market. Due to high demand and the resulting need to boost manufacturing, Minimotors moved its production to a new factory in China and in 2015 completed the design and began producing the new electric scooter type named Dualtron Ultra. Seeing its huge success, the company continued to develop and manufacture other models and model series. Presently, the company offers the Dualtron, Speedway and Futecher model series that are popular among electromobility enthusiasts around the world, inextricably linking the Minimotors brand to electric scooters. Although many new companies continue to emerge in the field of electromobility, they lack the experience gained by Minimotors over all those years. Many of these newcomers soon abandon their plans due to low quality of their products and the resulting lack of market interest. The Minimotors company supplies highest quality products to the global markets, making it a leader in the field of electromobility.
