The Dualtron NEW is a new model, although it builds on the design of the Dualtron 1.5. The scooter has two motors, as suggested by the name – Dualtron, and has been introduced to the market by Minimotors in November 2019. This electric scooter corresponds to other models of this series and offers a ton of power and energy. By its size, it fills the gap between the Dualtron 3 and Dualtron Thunder models. It provides top riding comfort, quality and performance you would otherwise have troubles finding in this weight category. This is an ideal scooter not just for the city but also off-road. Body, design and equipment

The scooter offers practical design and perfect build quality you will appreciate during your daily rides. With the new, 3rd generation folding system, the Dualtron NEW has become a very well portable electric scooter! You can also fold the handlebars, which makes the scooter even more compact and allows loading it into a trunk of a standard car without problems. The Dualtron NEW is equipped with a large and easy-to-read EYE display manufactured in-house by Minimotors. The display shows all important data, such as speed, current gear, daily kilometers travelled (TRIP), total kilometers travelled (ODO) and the current battery level. Thanks to its high brightness level, the display stays legible even in adverse weather conditions. The scooter’s power is controlled by a popular finger lever. The frame and fixed handlebars are made of wrought aerospace aluminum alloy of 6082-T6 designation and the wheel shafts are made of chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with carbon admixture of SCM440 designation. Quality materials and precise workmanship give this scooter the rigidity necessary to ensure rider’s safety. The maintenance-free and durable elastomeric suspension, 10-inch, air-filled tires and comfortable ergonomic grips all contribute to your riding comfort.

Safety and ride quality

Safety is always most important. The scooter’s components are installed in a frame, which has been designed for maximum stability and riding comfort. The Dualtron NEW is supplied with elastomeric suspension at the front and rear, making your ride on any road more comfortable than ever before! This is a proven suspension system used in almost every model of the Dualtron series. If the suspension seems too stiff or too soft to you, its stiffness can be easily adjusted in three steps or you can simply swap the whole elastomeric suspension cartridge for a different cartridge that suits your needs. This suspension type requires zero maintenance, which fact you will surely appreciate. If you are a more demanding rider, the mechanical disc brakes can be simply upgraded to oil-operated hydraulic disc brakes. Along with electric brake, you can be sure that you will always brake to a stop safely even at higher speeds. You will certainly appreciate the recuperative charging option, which returns a portion of the energy back to your battery. Another important safety element is the electronic ABS that prevents wheel locking when braking heavily. It goes without saying that safety requires proper lighting. In addition to being stylish, this lighting system has been primarily designed to enhance safety and predictability in fast city traffic. The high-performance white LEDs at the front of the step-on platform and a red LED light at the back allow you not only to see the road in poor visibility but also to be seen. The scooter offers the option to activate the so-called “Kick-start” feature preventing any unwanted start up. The functional fenders and IP54 certification are a matter of fact. Meaning, should an unexpected rain shower catch you by surprise you do not have to worry about bad weather or your clothes getting dirty by splashing water. The easy-to-maintain step-on anti-skid surface preventing the rider from slipping in bad weather or extreme situation comes as a bonus.

Power and range

The performance and range are sufficient for every occasion. The Dualtron NEW comes with two powerful carbonless BLDC electric motors providing 2 x 900 W nominal power and offering an incredible peak power of 2 x 1800 W! Combined with a reliable control unit made in-house by Minimotors, the scooter allows the rider to ride at speeds of up to 65 km/h (depending on the rider’s weight, outside temperature and terrain). Thanks to 60 V battery providing 18 Ah capacity, the Dualtron NEW offers an impressive range of up to 50 km. This range gives you the freedom to ride without having to worry about where to recharge your battery. The two charging ports supporting supercharging are equipped with standard protective caps preventing dirt from entering inside. The battery does not suffer from any undesirable memory effect, which is why it will last many years, subject to proper charging and maintenance!

Use and practicality

Given its solid structure and high performance, this is a very versatile scooter. Thanks to its 2x2 drive, the Dualtron NEW will handle terrain and even steeper climbs. When riding in a city, you will appreciate smooth power delivery and agility of the scooter. You do not have to worry about your scooter giving up on you on a longer trip. You will love the very comfortable chassis, which you will be able to use both on cobblestones and on field roads. Despite the scooter’s versatility, its weight of about 29 kg may be a limiting factor for some riders who will not enjoy any stairs standing in their way. Likewise, the scooter’s performance and robust design resulted in poorer compactness, meaning you will have difficulty taking it, for instance, with you inside a restaurant and will have to lock it outside like a bicycle. Carrying a scooter over a short distance does not require much effort, however you certainly would not want to carry it to a higher floor of an apartment building without an elevator. With its size it still fits inside the trunk of a normal car, but do not expect much space left in it. Despite weighing more, it is a fantastic machine not only for the city, but also for off-road riding.

Does not matter whether your scooter is parked in front of a café or covered by dust somewhere outside the city on a field road – the sight of your scooter will always please you even after many years of use.

About the brand

The Minimotors is known globally as one of the best and most reliable manufacturers of electric scooters. It was established in 1999 in Pusan (Busan) in South Korea. Shortly after its establishment, the company became famous for its mass-produced electric motors. In 2010, it initiated the development and manufacturing of electric scooters as an excellent personal mobility alternative to single-track petrol-engine vehicles. In the same year, it unveiled its Speedway electric scooter series on the market. Due to high demand and the resulting need to boost manufacturing, Minimotors moved its production to a new factory in China and in 2015 completed the design and began producing a new electric scooter type named Dualtron Ultra. Seeing its huge success, the company continued in developing and manufacturing other models and model series. Presently, the company offers the Dualtron, Speedway and Futecher model series that are popular among electromobility enthusiasts around the world, inextricably linking the Minimotors brand to electric scooters.
