Within the ENGWE brand, the EP-2 Boost is interesting mainly as an improved alternative to the EP-2 Pro model. In the comparison, the manufacturer states that both models have a 250 W motor, 55 Nm, 624 Wh battery, 120 km range, Shimano 7-speed gearing and 20 × 4.0" all-terrain tyres, but the EP-2 Boost adds two important advantages: Boost Mode and a torque sensor. It also has larger brakes compared with the EP-2 Pro, because the EP-2 Boost uses 180 mm disc brakes, while the EP-2 Pro is listed in the manufacturer’s comparison with 160 mm brakes. Compared with the L20 Boost model, which ENGWE presents with a range of 126 km, the EP-2 Boost comes across more as a universal folding fat bike with a stronger emphasis on compact storage and more terrain-oriented tyres. Compared with the more expensive L20 3.0 Pro, which the manufacturer lists with a 100 Nm mid-drive motor and full suspension, the EP-2 Boost is simpler, more affordable and more suitable for riders looking for a folding electric bike with a large battery, fat tyres, 150 kg load capacity and practical equipment without an unnecessarily high price.
