Body, design and equipment

The first time you see the Mosphera electric scooter, you know that this is no ordinary machine. By its design features it resembles an off-road motorcycle and it is indeed able to match a motorcycle by its actual off-road capabilities. It is built around a solid, hand-welded steel frame with geometry inspired by mountain bikes. The huge 17-inch off-road tires complement the frame. With these tires, Mosphera offers sufficient ground clearance to pass over obstacles up to 19 cm in height. The manufacturer adapted all components to extreme conditions, as evidenced by the protected bottom of the battery compartment located in the deck. You can easily step on the deck with both feet next to each other. The rigidity and durability dominate also when it comes to the upper part of the frame where, in addition to handlebars made of a single piece, there is space for additional battery. This space also houses a keyhole for starting the scooter, the light controller, battery voltage indicator, eco mode switch and the neutral/reverse switch. Since the Mosphera is primarily a utility machine, the handlebars only feature essential equipment, namely the thumb accelerator lever and brake levers.

Power and range

Although you can ride the Mosphera on paved roads without any problems, the real adventure begins outside the city. It is there that you can best unleash the peak power of 6 000 W, allowing you to fly up the hills at inclinations of up to 45° without blinking an eye. The top speed on a flat surface reaches exactly 70 km/h. Such specifications of a single HUB motor must be adequately supplied with sufficient energy. This is taken care of by a 48 V Li-Ion battery providing a capacity of 51.2 Ah and guaranteeing a range of up to 150 km. This Mosphera version comes with a smaller battery. However, anybody not liking its specifications can easily get another battery of the same capacity, thus doubling the range. Since this is a scooter intended for the most difficult conditions, the manufacturer has also adapted the ideal temperature conditions for the battery – it can operate between -20 and +60 °C. You will not be held back by charging either as it only takes between 5 and 7 hours.

Safety and comfort

The biggest advantage of Mosphera, i.e. off-road riding, closely relates to its next attribute, which is the comfort. Thanks to its 17-inch off-road tires and, in particular, the suspension, you will be riding the most comfortable electric scooter on the market. The secret lies in the suspension type as the manufacturer opted for hydraulic shock absorbers with an adjustable spring providing 160 mm of travel at the front and the rear. A similar technology is used in MTB motorcycles. It allows you to easily pass through huge potholes, roots or branches while always maintaining perfect traction and surface contact. However, when the time comes to slow down, you may rely on the performance of MAGURA MT5e hydraulic brakes.

In dense forests, as well as during night, you will appreciate the pair of front LED headlights that can easily match the output produced by cars. The lighting equipment includes the rear LED strip on the raised fender. An off-road beast designed for all conditions must simply come as waterproof with certified IP54 rating.

Use and practicality

The fact that Mosphera was developed by its manufacturer for the most extreme conditions experienced by the military and other specialized professions makes it a thoroughbred off-road scooter allowing you to conquer long and challenging off-road routes. Yet, it maintains a sufficient degree of playfulness despite weighing 60 kg and measuring 170x134x32 cm (length, height, width), simply because it can carry loads of up to 150 kg. Although it may not seem so given its massive body, Mosphera does not forget the portability aspect. That is why it can be folded for better handling and storage. However, it feels best in extreme off-road terrain, mud, snow, on steep hills and unpaved surfaces where you feel immediately what kind of a beast you are riding.
