Body, design and equipment

Although the InMotion S1F is an electric scooter designed for the city, just one look at it reveals robust and solid body. The idea behind this model is to embody a durable scooter capable of withstanding truly intensive handling. That is why the manufacturer opted for the proven rigidity of a frame made of aviation-grade aluminum. For its class, the scooter offers above-standard room for rider’s feet with the entire deck being 65 cm long, 17 cm wide and covered by a practical and anti-slip rubber surface. Following the frame and the steering rod’s neck, you reach the joint fitted with a simple folding system. One lever unlocks the steering rod, which then attaches to the rear fender by a built-in hook. When folding the scooter, there are no cables getting in your way as starting from the folding joint they are led inside the steering rod. The handlebars do not feature any unnecessary gadgets either, being dominated by a wide built-in LCD panel. It displays information about your current speed, serves as a light indicator, as well as a turn signal indicator, and it also shows the three riding modes. Everything is controlled either by a single button next to the display or by using a smartphone after connecting it to the scooter via Bluetooth. From a design point of view, the scooter indeed uses the signature color combination of InMotion – matte black color with orange details.

Power and range

For riders to experience the potential of its robust and solid body, it must offer decent performance. This performance is generated by the single motor at the back which, once you press the accelerator thumb lever, is capable of achieving a power of precisely 1,000 W. The top speed of 40 km/h, the InMotion S1F is able to accelerate to, is sufficient for city streets. Rather than racing on a flat surface, the InMotion S1F will feel at home on steep inclines as it will have no trouble going up hills at a 30% gradient. Such performance must be well supplied with energy, which is the task of a 54 V Li-ion battery providing a capacity of 12.5 Ah. When fully charged, the stored energy lasts for unbelievable 95 km in standard conditions, offering sufficient freedom and relieving owners from worrying about charging. But when the time finally comes and the battery is empty, you only need to connect the scooter to two charges via two charging ports on the side of the deck and wait 3.5 hours to fully charge. The InMotionS1F’s battery comes with the Smart Battery Management System. It takes care of it by using smart energy management, which includes maintaining ideal temperature of cells and balanced use of their capacity, thus significantly prolonging the lifespan of the battery.

Safety and comfort

More than anywhere else, it is the safety that should be one of the most important properties of an electric scooter in the city. People at InMotion are well aware of this and that is why they equipped the S1F model with a maintenance-free braking system – a drum brake at the front and an electronic brake at the back with immediate response. Not even broken roads or curbs will stop you as this scooter features shock absorbers with adjustable response both at the front and at the back. Further contributing to comfort are the 10-inch tubeless inflatable tires. Add to all that the ultra powerful front LED headlight, turn signals, as well as the rear and brake light, and you will be seen on the road even in complete darkness.

Use and practicality

The InMotion S1F offers more than just ordinary commuting to work, school or anywhere else in the city. It offers the freedom to explore the city without worrying about the range, performance, comfort or durability of the scooter. Like every true urban model, you can simply fold it at any time and take it with you wherever you want. It weighs just 24 kg, including standard equipment, and its dimensions are 130.7 x 56 x 52 cm (length, height, width) when folded. The height of the unfolded scooter is 127.5 cm. Completing the versatility package is the total load capacity of 140 kg and the scooter’s IP55 waterproof rating, while the battery itself is certified for even better rating – IPX7.
