Product Information

More info

The Egret GTs 20 Ah is a powerful electric scooter with a seat designed for users who do not want to compromise between performance, comfort, safety and practicality. It is one of the most powerful models from Egret, combining a rated power of 1,000 W and peak power of up to 1,890 W with a maximum speed of 45 km/h. Thanks to its homologation in the L1e-B category, the GTs is designed as a serious means of transport for everyday use, not merely as a toy for the city. An important part of the equipment is the removable 20 Ah Li-ion battery with a voltage of 47.45 V and a capacity of 949 Wh, which can be easily removed from the scooter and charged separately. The manufacturer states a range of approximately 26–100 km depending on riding style and conditions, with around 65 km possible at higher speeds and up to 100 km when riding economically. Charging the battery to 100% takes approximately 7 hours with the original 3 A charger. The Egret GTs is therefore an ideal choice for users looking for a combination of high performance, long range, comfort and premium equipment in one machine.

Performance and range

At the heart of the Egret GTs is a powerful rear electric motor with a rated power of 1,000 W and a maximum peak power of 1,890 W, providing significant reserve power when starting, accelerating and riding uphill. The motor delivers up to 47 Nm of torque and the manufacturer states that it can handle gradients of up to 30%. The maximum speed is 45 km/h, while the user can set an individual speed limit via the display or Egret app from 10 to 45 km/h in 5 km/h increments. The performance is supported by a 20 Ah battery with a voltage of 47.45 V and an energy capacity of 949 Wh, equipped with a Smart-BMS system and certified according to EN 50604-1. The battery weighs approximately 5.9 kg, uses a quick-change system and has IPX7 protection. Charging is carried out using a charger with an output of 54.6 V / 3 A and an input of AC 200–240 V, 50/60 Hz, with a full charge taking approximately 7 hours. According to the manufacturer, the range is approximately 26–100 km – around 26 km with intensive use, approximately 65 km when riding at around 25 km/h, and up to 100 km under economical conditions. Real-world range is of course affected by rider weight, temperature, speed, route profile, tyre pressure and riding mode. The combination of 1,890 W peak power, 47 Nm and a 949 Wh battery makes the GTs an exceptionally capable scooter even on hilly routes.

Construction and equipment

The Egret GTs is built around an aluminium frame and was designed with an emphasis on stability at higher speeds and comfort during longer rides. The scooter has 13-inch pneumatic tyres with a width of 2.5", which, combined with the suspension, help absorb uneven surfaces and improve road contact. The front uses an adjustable RST oil upside-down fork with 50 mm travel, while the rear features an adjustable spring shock absorber with 25 mm travel. In terms of suspension classification, this is hydraulically adjustable full suspension, meaning suspension on both the front and rear wheels. The scooter weighs 34.9 kg including the battery and approximately 29 kg without the battery, while the maximum load capacity is 150 kg. The dimensions when unfolded are 1,360 × 670 × 1,260 mm (L × W × H), while folded it measures approximately 1,360 × 670 × 600 mm. The deck measures 460 × 170 mm, providing sufficient space even during longer rides. Practicality is enhanced by a height-adjustable steering column and height-adjustable seat, a rear rack compatible with the KLICKfix system, a rear-view mirror, electric horn and integrated lighting. The 3.5-inch colour TFT display with NFC shows important riding data and the scooter also supports the Egret app.

Safety, comfort and practicality

Great attention is paid to safety on the Egret GTs, which is particularly important given its maximum speed of 45 km/h. The scooter uses hydraulic disc brakes with 4 pistons and 160 mm discs on both the front and rear wheels, with the drive also being electrically interrupted during braking. This configuration provides precise braking force modulation and sufficient reserve during intensive braking. The lighting consists of a powerful 600 lm LED front light, an integrated rear LED light with brake function and licence plate illumination, and certified turn signals at the front and rear, including indicators integrated into the handlebar ends. Protection against unauthorised use is provided by a PIN, NFC unlocking, electronic immobiliser and partially integrated frame lock. A practical feature is also Apple Find My with its own power supply, so tracking remains active even after the main battery is removed. The battery has an IPX7 rating, while the scooter itself has, according to available information, IPX5 protection. Comfort is enhanced by large 13" tyres, adjustable front and rear suspension, a seat, adjustable handlebars and a wide rubberised deck. There is also USB-C, NFC, the Egret app and a rear rack. The GTs therefore combines a high level of safety with comfort suitable for everyday commuting as well as longer rides.

Our rating

Within Egret's current range, the GTs is among the models primarily focused on maximum performance and riding at speeds of up to 45 km/h. Compared with the Egret GT, the GTs offers higher rated and peak power reserves – 1,000 W / 1,890 W compared with 500 W / 1,620 W for the GT – while also reaching 45 km/h, whereas the GT is designed for a maximum of approximately 20 km/h. The GTs also has 47 Nm, fully adjustable suspension, 13" tyres, a 20 Ah/949 Wh battery and a 150 kg load capacity. Compared with the Egret One, Egret X+ or Egret Pro models, the GTs is significantly more powerful and aimed at more demanding use, while the aforementioned models are better suited to users who are satisfied with lower speed and power. For its current models, Egret lists, for example, the Egret Pro FX with 500 W/1,350 W, Egret X ultra with 500 W/1,350 W, Egret One with 500 W/1,000 W and Egret X+ with 500 W/900 W. The GTs therefore represents the top of the range in terms of performance and speed, with its main advantage being the combination of 45 km/h, 1,890 W peak power, a 949 Wh battery, 13" tyres, fully adjustable suspension and hydraulic 4-piston brakes.

About the brand

The German company Walberg Urban Electrics has been selling the premium EGRET brand since 2012. Its second lifestyle brand, THE-URBAN, was added in 2017. In the meantime, Walberg Urban Electrics has distributed more than 60,000 electric scooters. Its founder, Florian Walberg, started out as an electric scooter user. Through his own experience, he realised the enormous potential of this new form of mobility. According to him, in the coming years cities will have to reorganise roads and pavements in a new way – away from vehicles with internal combustion engines towards alternative forms of mobility. Electric scooters, especially folding ones, can be easily combined with public transport or with your own car. And we completely agree with him. The EGRET and THE-URBAN brands are particularly popular in Germany thanks to their German quality, reliability and stylish design.
