Power and range

The Dualtron Mini Special bets on a drive unit that is quality and time proven. That is why you find one BLDC Hub motor with a standard output of 450 W in the rear wheel. However, it is capable of producing a peak output of up to 1450 W. Once you press the accelerator finger lever, the Dualtron Mini Special Long Body Single Motor can take you to the top of steeper hills in the blink of an eye. You also discover what this single motor is truly capable of when looking at the top speed since the scooter peaks at 55 km/h.

To enjoy the ride offered by the scooter’s power, it must come with a sufficient battery capacity. That is why there is a 52 V Li-Ion LG battery with a capacity of 21 Ah installed in the deck. Its cells supply the scooter with energy giving it a range of 65 km. When the battery runs flat, just connect the scooter to the charging port now upgraded with better insulation and a cover protecting it from dirt and wait 10 hours to fully recharge.

Body, design and equipment

The Dualtron Mini Special Long Body retains everything what made the standard version so popular among riders. Its build quality and practicality remain among the best in the class. However, with this special edition the manufacturer aims higher still. As the name suggests, the Mini Special Long Body model comes with a larger frame. The space for rider’s feet on the deck has been extended by 5 cm. Thanks to the anti-skid rubber deck surface and the rear footrest, the scooter offers you a more comfortable and safer position during long rides. The stem of the steering rod, as well as the folding joint and the steering rod itself, all stayed the same. All you need to do is to release the only lever located above the robust stem and lower the entire rod.

The cockpit is dominated by 62 cm handlebars that have undergone evolution as well. They appear stronger and, moreover, it is now possible to fold them. At their end there are ergonomic grips and there is also present a new EY3 display made in-house by the Minimotors. In addition to the nicer graphical layout showing the riding data, you will like the option to connect to the scooter via Bluetooth and set it up in more detail using a phone app. The scooter design has been updated to a modern look with pure black finish of the Dualtron Mini Special complemented by adjustable ambient RGB lights on the sides of the deck and the steering rod.

Safety and comfort

With its more rigid body, the Dualtron Mini Special is ready to tackle challenges that go beyond the city limits. To make the riding experience complete, the manufacturer equipped it with tubed 9-inch inflatable tires that are wider by 9 mm. Thanks to wider contact surface, this tire filters the bumps and holes on the road better. The front wheel is now able to withstand a greater load as people at Minimotors decided to make it of aluminum. The comfort is significantly enhanced by the twin shock absorbers at the front and back. They include a combination of a spring and a replaceable rubber cartridge of 5 different stiffness levels. The overall riding safety and ease of ride has been improved to a large degree by the two maintenance-free drum brakes complemented by an electronic brake with ABS and EBS. The scooter provides riders with a safer feeling on the road even in reduced visibility. The Dualtron Mini Special comes with two diodes mounted at the front of the deck. There is a taillight at the back, which also serves as a brake light. However, a light show like that is not about safety alone but about style as well. The ambient lights illuminating the inscriptions on the sides of the deck and the steering rod make you immediately the center of attention on the road.

Use and practicality

The Dualtron Mini Special Long Body Single Motor pushes the design of its standard version to a new level while staying within the category of light scooters. However, with its longer frame, range and modern design, this machine offers its riders a riding cocktail they will enjoy when commuting to work, as well as during their weekend trips. You will be satisfied with its very comfortably tuned suspension both on cobblestones and on broken city roads. And what about weight? It only rose to 23 kg, which is why everybody can handle carrying and storing this scooter. Especially given the fact that even after the extension, its dimensions are 118 x 125 x 62 cm (length, height, width) and 127 x 39 x 27 mm when folded. It can carry up to 120 kg.
