A new off-road king? The Kaabo Wolf King GT is a high-speed electric scooter designed for maximum thrill, both on the road and in the field. It is kind of a Frankenstein among extreme scooters. His pedigree comes partly from a motocross bike, partly from an electric scooter and there are also traces of a mountain bike. It is presently the most powerful scooter made by Kaabo. On the road, this electric scooter can gallop at speeds of up to 100 km/h, providing literally "crazy" acceleration. The huge LG 21700 battery with 72 V, 35 Ah capacity allows you to travel up to 180 kilometers under ideal conditions. Naturally, the actual range is shorter. Nevertheless, it is still one of the longest ranges in this scooter category. The inverted hydraulic front shock absorbers and the rear spring shock absorbers provide trouble-free riding in any terrain. The two motors with a peak output of 8400 W, combined with two 50 A control units located between the dual front fork, are capable of easily taking you up every hill. Moreover, the Wolf GT engines are 10 dB quieter than their predecessors.

Body, design and equipment

The characteristic features of the Wolf King are its huge front hydraulic fork and the tubular frame wrapping around the scooter like a buggy frame. And although the scooter is designed mainly for off-road conditions, with road tires you are not going to get lost on asphalt either. The Wolf GT is equipped with first-class features, including a fully hydraulic brake system, a horn that is sufficiently loud to wake the dead, and huge 11-inch tires that are puncture-resistant. The folding mechanism of the Wolf King is one of the best you can find in similar machines. When the folding mechanism is locked in its upright position, it is rock-solid and without any dreaded steering column play. The scooter is relatively easy to fold and unfold. It involves two steps: locking the giant anodized handle and then inserting the huge metal safety pin for added safety. However, because of this folding system, the scooter extends to 155 centimeters in folded configuration, which is almost 28 centimeters more than in the unfolded state. This is definitely not a type of electric scooter you can easily fold and take with you on a bus, for instance. The Wolf King is a true muscle man, weighing 52 kg. The tubular steel exoskeleton frame, powerful hydraulic shock absorbers and the overall robust body can withstand handling that is anything but gentle. The feedback from riders confirms that the scooter is extremely durable. After all, it is made of 6082-T6 – a strong aluminum alloy similar to the ones used in building aircraft. The wheel shafts are made of SCM440 – a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with carbon admixture.

Compared with the Wolf King model, the GT's cockpit is a huge step forward. Its central element is a large and easy-to-read display located at the center of the handlebars. This 11-centimeter TFT display provides a whole new level of details, including riding mode, top speed, average speed and temperature of both motor controllers. The display allows pre-programming 5 gears to suit your personal riding preferences. Thanks to its high brightness setting, the display stays legible even in adverse weather conditions. The scooter’s power is controlled by a finger lever that can also be used to operate cruise control. The scooter's handlebars are typically found on downhill mountain bikes. They are very strong and wide enough for a rider to find a comfortable position optimized for off-road riding and enjoying a more aggressive ride, if desired. They are high enough even for riders 190 cm tall. Compared to the predecessor, the handlebars sit 6 cm higher and they are also slightly wider. All the electrical cabling is well routed and purposefully wrapped in a housing that keeps the cables together, ensuring long serviceable life. The scooter’s dimensions in a folded state are 1549 x 749 x 406 mm (length x width x height) and 1270 x 749 x 1331 mm when unfolded.

Safety and ride quality

The Wolf King GT was built to provide customers with an almost indestructible machine. Their position can be adjusted in both horizontally and vertically. The rear red light is located on the rear fender and brightens up whenever you press the brake lever. The front and rear fully-fledged turn signals are a new feature. The blue-backlit Wolf King GT inscription on the sides of the deck is an interesting addition. The scooter offers the option for less experienced riders to activate the so-called “kick-start” feature preventing any unwanted start up and you can also reduce this scooter’s brutal power by selecting a lower gear. Coming as a bonus is the easy-to-maintain rubber layer on the deck that prevents riders from slipping in bad weather or extreme situation.

This kind of range will give you freedom to ride without having to worry about where to recharge your battery. The two charging ports are located on the left side of the deck and are equipped with protective caps preventing dirt from entering inside. The battery pack does not suffer from any undesirable memory effect, which is why it is going to last many years, subject to proper charging and maintenance!

Use and practicality

The scooter is literally hell on wheels when in dual motor mode and at maximum output. Given its extremely solid structure and comfortable suspension, this is a very versatile scooter designed mostly for off-road riding. Thanks to its 2x2 drive, the Wolf King GT can handle even a very steep climb. You do not have to worry about your scooter giving up on you on a longer trip. With its puncture-resistant 11-inch tires, the Wolf King GT provides you with excellent comfort, traction and safety. Despite the aforementioned advantages, the scooter’s weight of about 52 kg may be a limiting factor for some riders as carrying this scooter up a staircase is out of question. You will also experience problems with loading the scooter into a car trunk, unless you own a quite large SUV. When folded, the scooter's length extends by additional 28 cm, thus reaching a total length of 155 cm. This said, the Wolf King is not primarily intended for frequent loading or transport. It is a tough scooter for tough terrain and its size and weight simply must reflect that.
