Review: Is the Vsett 10+ a scooter for everyone?

How does one of the most popular electric scooters compare to the competition?

Although these days electric scooter manufacturers often resort to designing models that are ideal for just one type of riding, it is still possible to find truly versatile scooters for almost everyone.

Scooters that combine great performance, workmanship, safety features and extremely comfortable riding on both paved and dusty roads. The Vsett 10+ electric scooter is among those scooters.

Impresses by its speed

The reason why this scooter is such a popular model for a broad spectrum of customers comes not only with its comfortably tuned chassis and design but also with its smooth and safe starts.

You might be asking how is it even possible with a peak power of 3667 watts we ourselves measured in our independent tests? The secret of the Vsett 10+ is the ability to adjust the acceleration force, power delivery, as well as the electronic brake efficiency.

On the contrary, those who prefer fast starts will be interested to know how quickly it can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h. According to our measurements, when the traffic light turns green the scooter can reach the speed of 50 km/h in just 6.17 seconds.

Riders looking for both speed and dynamic riding will be pleased by the behavior of this scooter after the start. The joy of fast riding will continue until the scooter reaches the top speed of 67.41 km/h.

Although this value measured in our own tests differs quite substantially from the top speed declared on paper (80 km/h), riding at this real speed will give you quite a challenge nevertheless.

Five levels of performance

The top speed is one thing. The other thing is the real power of the scooter, which makes riding up the hills, in turns and in more challenging off-road terrain quite an experience. How did Vsett 10+ fare in this respect? In one word, excellently.

While riding, you can choose from three performance modes delivering power in a stable manner all the time. However, the 10+ has one more ace up its sleeve. It is the fifth performance level that is activated after pressing the sport mode button. Although you will enjoy this top performance for just five minutes, we guarantee that you will definitely not be bored during that time.

According to our independent tests, the two motors achieve their highest output at a speed of over 42 km/h. This means that heavier riders will be also able to swiftly climb the hills with inclinations of up to 25 degrees! No other competing scooter can do that, not even the Dualtron Victor that is more powerful on paper.

Longer trips in the field mean no problem

Sooner or later, the power of the Vsett 10+ will have to be tamed in front of an obstacle or when the situation on the road changes suddenly. The two ZOOM hydraulic brakes take care of braking. These are standard with the majority of similar scooters and in the case of the Vsett 10+ they work well. To speak in numbers, you can brake to a halt from the speed of 50 km/h in just little over 2 and a half seconds. The scooter’s braking distance is over 17 meters.

What about battery capacity? Although you have a choice of three 60 volts accumulators, given their test results we definitely recommend the largest battery with 28 ampere-hours. In our test, we reached the maximum range of over 90 kilometers.

In a city cycle, you will enjoy riding for 55 and a half kilometers. In terms of minimum range, the scooter reached little over 25 kilometers. Although those are not top results, the Vsett does compensate for its relatively shorter range. It comes with the option to charge the battery using two chargers simultaneously or by using fast charger.

Another strength of the Vsett 10+ is the riding comfort. The suspension is pleasantly tuned by a pair of spring absorbers. The owners are able to adjust the stiffness based on their preferences, making the ride a much more pleasant experience compared to more rigidly set scooters with identical suspension type, such as the Dualtron Victor or Zero 10X.

The desire to leave the main road and enjoy some adventure by riding the Vsett 10+ on a field road will not surprise anybody. However, one should remember that dirt roads are the maximum this scooter can handle by its design.

Technical specifications (obtained by independent testing):

Parameter Value
Maximum power 3667 W
Top speed 67.41 km/h
Maximum range 90.43 km
City range 55.51 km
Minimum range 25.67 km
Acceleration (0-50 km/h) 6.17 s
Braking distance (50-0 km/h) 17.43 m

There are also minor flaws

Given the previously mentioned specs, one might get the impression that opting for the Vsett 10+ scooter is a done deal for most prospective buyers. However, there are certain minor negatives when it comes to this model.

One of them is the unfortunate placement of charging ports. Being located on the deck, you simply cannot avoid stepping on them. By stepping on them, in the long term there is a chance you’ll deform or otherwise damage them despite the fact that they are protected by covers.

Savings were made on some of the materials used, namely when it comes to rear and front fenders that are made of a standard plastic material. The headlight is installed on the front fender. Its placement is not ideal. You will recognize it when riding faster as the fender starts to shake along with the headlight.

However, despite this placement, the Vsett 10+ is significantly ahead of other scooters in terms of light intensity and beam shape. It also maintains the lead thanks to the presence of turn signals, which are nowhere to be found on other models.

Due to the position of turn signal switches, it often happens that you activate them unintentionally while riding and do not realize it because there is no turn signal indicator. Still, we consider it a better option than not having turn signals at all. Moving around a city will be safer with them.

Excellent ergonomics

The folding of the steering rod is smooth. The steering rod is taller compared to the competitors in this category, which contributes to more comfortable riding for persons over 180 centimeters in height. On the contrary, shorter riders have no choice but to get used to this type of posture.

Moreover, the solidly made steering rod connected to the frame by a three-point safety folding system is not easily swayed. When folding the scooter, one must get used to tightening the screw, which requires finding a small thread located directly in the steering rod.

Nevertheless, the manufacturer of the Vsett 10+ tries to compensate for this minor deficiency by providing another clever feature, namely the folding handlebars. You won't find these on the Zero 10X or Inokim OXO models.

The folding handlebars are often prone to gradual loosening, which was also the case with the previous version of this scooter. Fortunately, they learned their lesson and with the latest iteration of the Vsett 10+ model they used a more durable system. It remains true that the most important thing is the correct posture and transfer of weight while riding, which ensures less stress acting on the scooter and a longer serviceable life of its components.

You can find the correct body posture and riding technique in our Escooter Guide. However, despite assuming correct posture on the scooter you can easily resolve any eventual loosening by visiting any Max Blinker authorized service shop.

In addition to the folding system, the handlebars feature a finger throttle control, a round display and an NFC chip reader. This chip is used to start the scooter. You won't find a comparable system on other compared models and it serves for enhanced theft protection. However, owners bothered by having to constantly carry an NFC chip with them can deactivate this feature and start their Vsett 10+ scooters without it.

Pluses
  • 2 charging ports and fast charging
  • Turn signals
  • Strong front headlight
  • Folding handlebars
Minuses
  • Rather cheap deck plastics
  • Fenders
  • Placement of charging ports
  • Missing turn signal indicator

How do we rate Vsett 10+?

We recommend the Vsett 10+ electric scooter to riders looking for an ideal price to performance ratio. We dare to say that in all those years it took to develop this model, they succeeded in making a scooter for a broad target group. And this not only by the power delivered by a pair of motors that belongs to a very small group of its competitors, but also by riding comfort for a broad spectrum of riders thanks to the adjustable response of shock absorbers.

With its sport mode, the Vsett 10+ has many times tempted us to take it out for a spin to some easy off-road terrain where it had no problems. We view positively the feature that allows charging the battery through two ports and also the fast-charging option, folding handlebars and a robust steering bar. The presence of turn signals is a big plus, as well as the above-average headlight compared to competitors.

The disadvantage being the use of rather cheap plastic materials on the deck and soft fenders. The headlight is the most affected by it, its potential being hindered by the fact that it is installed on a shaky fender. Similarly unfortunate is the placement of charging ports since every rider will step on them sooner or later.

This is a truly exceptional and versatile scooter offering solid performance and, in particular, beautiful black-yellow finish. If you like it, be sure to visit maxblinker.sk e-shop where you can find the Vsett 10+ at the lowest price on the market.
